Charles  Heeter
Charles Randon Heeter, age 66, of Fisher Road in Sigel, PA, passed away in the comfort of his home on Saturday, May 26, 2018. He was born on July 16, 1951, to the late Chester Bruce and Anna Jean (Coon) Heeter, in Sigel. He graduated from the Brookville High School with the class of 1969. On September 25, 1971, he married Sharon Rose (Welsh) Heeter in Sigel, PA; Sharon survives him. Charles was a founding member of the Sigel Sportsmen’s Club, starting in 1985. He served as the membership coordinator and is a former officer of the club. He was also a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association, a member of the National Wild Turkey Federation, and a member of the Masonic Hobah Lodge, #276 in Brookville, PA. Charles started working for C & K Coal Co., and after 13 years he began working for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. He retired after 24 years with Penn DOT and he operated heavy machinery his entire life. Charles was an avid outdoorsman and hunter. He was known as a mentor and many people, of all ages, looked up to him. He loved telling and sharing stories with anyone he could. He was a family man who loved spending all the time that he could with his wonderful grandchildren. Charles would spend time going on ranger rides and wagon rides with them. He always enjoyed his sons’ sporting events and especially all the grandchildren’s events. He was an avid sports fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates. Charles enjoyed gardening and making food plots for the wildlife in his area. In addition to his wife, Charles is survived by two sons; Douglas C. (Kim) Heeter of Bel Air, MD, and Bradley S. (Nedra) Heeter of Willow Street, PA; four sisters; Darla Rosenquest, Ethel Clark, Rita (Charlie) Ventura, and Elaine (Ed) Fleming; three sisters-in-law; Kathy (Tom) Gunning, Robin (Paul) Orris, and Vicki (Rod) McDowell; two grandsons; Jackson and Mason; and three granddaughters; Paige, Gabriella and Jemacyn. Family and friends will be received on Friday, June 1, 2018, from 4 – 8pm, with a Masonic service beginning at 8pm, at the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main Street, Brookville, PA 15825. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2018, also at the funeral home, beginning at 11:00am and officiated by Pastor Henry Scoff. Interment will take place at the Cedarview Memorial Park at 2pm, located in Strattanville, PA. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Sigel Sportsmen’s Club, 246 Sportsman Lane, PO Box 155, Sigel, PA 15860, or to the American Cancer Society.
